2. Downloading Your Tax Snapshot
The first step in getting value from FP Alpha is uploading your client’s tax return. This short video walks you through the four-step process from the client dashboard to a successfully uploaded return, ready for analysis.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- From the client dashboard, select Snapshots on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Click Tax Planning to open the Tax Snapshot. This page displays client-specific data sets based on the uploaded tax return.
- Explore the micro-level metrics — rates, tax brackets, and deductions are displayed in visual format. This is often the first time a client has seen their tax return presented visually.
- Review the big-picture analytics — including long-term care thresholds, HSA contribution limits, and Social Security taxation. These broader data points help identify planning opportunities beyond the immediate tax return.
- Customise the view using the Hide button in the upper right corner of any data set. This lets you tailor the snapshot to show only what’s relevant for the client conversation.
- Download as PDF by clicking the download button. The PDF is branded with your logo and ready to share with the client or include in a meeting packet.
